Delhi PWD floats ₹15.22 lakh audit tender for Guru Nanak Eye Centre

Guru Nanak Eye Centre Hospital is the first site named in a Delhi PWD tender for an electrical, fire-safety and energy audit.

The department has floated a ₹15.22 lakh tender for the proposed two-month exercise. Auditors will inspect power-distribution systems, switchgear, cable trays, earthing systems, transformers, diesel-generator sets, UPS units, battery banks, motors and HVAC-related electrical components.

They will use thermal imaging on live electrical panels to identify hot spots, loose connections and unbalanced loads. The audit will also assess possible overloading, voltage and current levels, power factor, harmonics and load profiles, along with safety labels, warning signs, maintenance records and electrical logbooks.

Auditors will grade findings by risk and document them with photographs and thermographic observations. They will also make corrective and preventive recommendations. The energy audit will study consumption patterns and suggest savings measures, including payback and return-on-investment estimates.

In May, Delhi Home Minister Ashish Sood directed regular fire-safety audits at schools, colleges, hospitals and night shelters as part of emergency-preparedness measures.
