Delhi weather: Showers bring minimum temperature down to 24.8°C

Delhi’s minimum temperature dropped to 24.8°C on Saturday morning after showers across parts of the city, with more rain and thunderstorms forecast through the day.

Safdarjung recorded 0.7 mm of rain between 11.30 p.m. on Friday and 5.30 a.m. on Saturday, followed by 1.3 mm in the next three hours. Palam recorded a low of 22°C, while Lodhi Road recorded 24.7°C and Ayanagar 24°C.

The India Meteorological Department issued a yellow-to-orange alert for Saturday. It expects light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph, with the maximum temperature likely to be around 30°C. Residents travelling through low-lying stretches should factor in the possibility of waterlogging after heavier spells.

Delhi’s air quality was satisfactory at 9 a.m., with an AQI of 59, compared with 71 at 4 p.m. on Friday. The weather follows Friday’s red-alert warning for heavy rain and strong winds.
