Delhi considers e-Cabinet platform for digital Cabinet files

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has discussed a proposed e-Cabinet system with National Informatics Centre experts that would allow Cabinet papers to be securely accessed on tablets.

Under the proposal, ministers, the chief secretary, principal secretaries and departmental secretaries would receive access according to their roles. Cabinet notes, meeting agendas, annexures, decisions and minutes could be prepared and shared through the platform, with records retained for later reference.

The platform would also track action after Cabinet decisions. Departments could update implementation progress digitally, allowing officials to monitor work against stipulated timelines.

Gupta said the government wants to use technology to simplify processes, speed up decision-making and enable continuous monitoring. Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh have adopted similar systems.
