Delhi woman says she jumped from moving Rapido bike after driver took deserted route

A Delhi woman says she jumped from a moving Rapido bike after its driver allegedly took an unfamiliar, deserted route towards Vishwavidyalaya and would not stop despite her repeated requests.

Ayesha Srivastav, who shared her account on Instagram, said she had booked the bike to travel to her office. She said the driver described the road as a direct route to Vishwavidyalaya, but she felt unsafe and asked him to change direction or halt the scooter. When he allegedly did neither, she said she tried to get the driver’s attention before jumping off the moving vehicle.

She suffered injuries to her hands, legs and head and required medical attention, she said. Srivastav also said Rapido’s customer support did not respond promptly to her complaint, leading her to post about it online.

Rapido said it had permanently suspended the driver from its platform, shared the driver’s details with Srivastav for legal proceedings, and offered assistance with legal or medical needs.
