Delhi’s draft voter roll is 32.8% smaller, but its gender gap has narrowed

Delhi’s draft electoral roll now has 97,53,577 voters, down 32.8% from 1,45,10,299 names recorded on June 20.

The Special Intensive Revision reduced the gap between male and female electors from 9,12,990 to 2,24,856. The draft list has 49,88,993 male voters, 47,64,137 female voters and 447 third-gender voters.

The Chief Electoral Officer’s office said 47,56,722 electors were not included after the enumeration exercise, held from June 30 to August 17. Of them, 43.3 lakh were marked as permanently shifted, absent or under other reasons; 2,82,412 were identified as deceased and 1,41,535 as duplicate or multiple-location entries.

Tughlakabad saw the steepest proportional fall, with 47.8% of entries excluded. Burari lost the largest number of names in absolute terms: 1,67,885.

Residents who did not submit enumeration forms can apply for inclusion through Form 6 until September 30. Form 7 allows objections to an entry, while Form 8 can be used to update an address or other electoral details. The final roll is due on November 4.
