DLF Phase 3 homeowners plan court challenge to action on 2,500 U Block houses

More than 2,500 homes in DLF Phase 3’s U Block are under scrutiny as the administration examines alleged construction and land-use violations, prompting homeowners to prepare a court challenge.

Residents say the houses cannot be treated alike. They estimate that 104 properties have seven or eight floors or more, while around 90 of those have seven floors; the permitted configuration is cited as stilt-plus-four floors. Homeowner Kuldeep Yadav said the extent and nature of alleged violations should be assessed separately for each property.

The enforcement drive in DLF Phase 3 follows court directions and a survey of DLF colonies. In June, authorities sealed or demolished some properties, including paying guest accommodation, commercial units and unauthorised structures. A 2025 Punjab and Haryana high court order recorded that earlier surveys had identified unauthorised structures in more than 1,000 buildings in DLF 3.

Residents plan to submit property-wise details on floors and construction, seeking a policy for structures that can comply with applicable rules. A senior DTCP official said action is based on survey records, sanctioned building plans and due procedure, not simply the number of floors.
