Driver arrested after cab driver alleges harassment, assault in Gurugram

A driver was arrested after a woman cab driver alleged that he harassed and assaulted her while their vehicles were parked for charging in Gurugram.

Police said the woman, who drives for a tourist company, was parked at a charging point on Wednesday when another driver pulled up alongside her vehicle. She alleged that he played an obscene video on his phone and deliberately turned the screen towards her.

When she objected, the driver allegedly abused and assaulted her, police said. The woman recorded the episode on her phone and later uploaded the footage to social media.

Police identified the accused as Arjun Kamawat and registered a case at DLF Sector-29 police station. Police said they are questioning him and continuing their investigation.
