DTCP demolishes enclosed stilt parking in DLF Phase 3

DTCP demolished enclosed construction spanning about 500 square metres in a DLF Phase 3 stilt area sanctioned for open parking.

Officials said the space had been used for a projector room, bar, bedroom, drawing room, lift lobby and additional toilets. District Town Planner (Enforcement) Amit Madholia said stilt areas cannot be enclosed for rooms or other uses beyond building-rule limits.

Amita Sethi, a floor owner, told officials that the builder had constructed and sold the additional space and was no longer responding to calls.

The action was part of a wider drive in DLF Phase 3. DTCP carried out demolitions at seven houses, sealed four buildings over alleged unauthorised construction and commercial activity, and cleared about 1.5km of encroached road right-of-way.

DTCP is scrutinising nearly 500 stilt-plus-four properties across DLF phases for similar violations.
