DTCP says action on Gurugram property violations may begin Monday

Gurugram’s town planning enforcement wing says it may begin sealing and demolition action in private colonies from Monday after issuing 1,319 show-cause notices and 662 restoration orders.

The notices cover colonies including Sushant Lok, South City, Ardee City, Greenwood City, Vatika, Vipul World and DLF phases. South City received 538 notices: 230 for commercial and residential norm violations, and 308 for residential violations. Sushant Lok received about 283 notices, along with 100 separate notices concerning commercial activity in Sushant Lok-1.

Officials said the cases involve structures built in stilt parking areas, encroachment on setbacks or public road land, and commercial activity in residential houses without authorisation.

Of the 662 restoration orders, 250 were issued in Sushant Lok-1 and 248 in DLF Phase-3. Another 126 apply to DLF Phase-4 and 38 to DLF Phase-2.

District Town Planner Enforcement Amit Madholia said owners have been asked to remove the violations within the stipulated period. DTCP may seal or demolish properties where owners do not take corrective action.
