DU caps DUSU campaign teams at five, restricts parking near campuses

A campaign group entering a Delhi University college for the 2026 DUSU elections can have no more than five members. Parking will be prohibited on roads adjoining the university’s North and South campuses and affiliated colleges during the election period.

The university set out the measures after an online meeting with college principals, deans, hostel authorities, department heads and Delhi Police officials. Campaign activity must not disrupt classes or regular academic work.

Male campaigners, apart from candidates, cannot enter girls’ colleges or girls’ hostels. Outside guests will face restrictions at boys’ and girls’ hostels, and hostel canteens will not be open to outside guests. Police will maintain entry registers at security barricades to record outside vehicles.

The university said Vamika police patrol vehicles would be available round the clock and warned that parking-rule violations could draw legal action. Nominations are due by September 10, and voting is scheduled for September 18, with counting the following day.
