Delhi University allows Class XII merit admissions in 80 programmes

Eleven Delhi University colleges can admit students using Class XII marks in 80 college-programme combinations after more than half the seats in those programmes remained vacant.

The route is open to students who did not appear for CUET and to those who took the test but did not secure a seat through their score. DU registrar Vikas Gupta said the university had used the policy in earlier years after regular admission rounds ended, but allowed it earlier this time to improve seat utilisation.

Bhagini Nivedita College has the highest number of listed programmes, with 22, followed by Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women with 16 and Aditi Mahavidyalaya with 14. The courses include BA (Hons) Hindi, Sanskrit, history and political science; BCom and BCom (Hons); and BSc (Hons) physics, mathematics and home science.

Kalindi College has opened Class XII-based admissions for BA (Hons) Hindi and Sanskrit, and BSc (Hons) physics. PGDAV (Evening), Vivekanand College and Rajdhani College are also on the list.
