DU allows Class 12 merit admissions at nine colleges for vacant UG seats

Applicants seeking vacant undergraduate seats at Indraprastha College for Women, Gargi College and seven other Delhi University colleges may now be considered on their Class 12 marks instead of CUET scores.

DU said the arrangement is subject to the eligibility criteria for each programme. The nine colleges are Indraprastha College for Women, Mata Sundri College for Women, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College, Sri Aurobindo College (Evening), Motilal Nehru College (Evening), Shyam Lal College (Evening), Ramanujan College, Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences and Gargi College.

Most vacant seats are in language-focused BA programmes, including BA (Hons) Sanskrit and BA (Hons) Hindi, and in BSc (Hons) Mathematics. Mata Sundri College for Women has again been permitted to use Class 12 merit for BSc (Hons) Mathematics after it was previously allowed to do so for Hindi, Punjabi and Sanskrit courses.

DU had earlier issued notices permitting merit-based admissions at other colleges. Its 2026-27 undergraduate admission cycle covers 73 programmes, more than 100 BA programme combinations and about 71,600 seats across 67 affiliated colleges.
