DU sets September 10 nomination deadline for DUSU polls

Delhi University has set September 10 as the deadline for nominations in the 2026–27 Delhi University Students’ Union elections, scheduled for September 18.

Students contesting DUSU office-bearer posts must deposit their papers in the sealed nomination box at the chief election officer’s North Campus office between 10am and 5pm on working days. Candidates for Central Council seats must submit papers through their own colleges or departments.

The university will publish the final candidate list on September 11. Polling at morning-shift colleges will run from 8:30am to 1pm; evening-shift colleges will vote from 3pm to 7:30pm. Counting is scheduled for September 19, with results expected that day.

Professor Raj Kishore Sharma of DU’s chemistry department has been appointed chief election officer, while university librarian Professor Rajesh Singh will serve as chief returning officer. College principals and heads of DUSU-affiliated institutions will oversee polling at their respective campuses.
