DUSU elections set for September 18, with counting the next day

Delhi University will hold its Students’ Union (DUSU) elections on September 18, with counting scheduled for September 19.

Candidates for DUSU office-bearer posts must submit nomination papers, a ₹500 demand draft and affidavits by 3 p.m. on September 10. The university will scrutinise the papers from 3:15 p.m. and publish the list of nominated candidates by 6 p.m. that day.

Candidates may withdraw their nominations until noon on September 11. The final candidate list will be published by 5 p.m.

Day-class students will vote from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Evening-class students will vote from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Candidates for office-bearer posts must submit nominations at the Chief Election Officer’s office at the Conference Centre, opposite the Botany Department in North Campus. Nominations for Central Council posts will be handled through the respective colleges, departments and institutions.

The university said the election will follow the DUSU code of conduct, its constitution, relevant court directions and the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations.
