Gurugram: Residents flag incomplete Sushant Lok park revamp

Three parks in Sushant Lok 2 and 3 were taken up for redevelopment nearly eight months ago. Residents say the Rs 80 lakh project remains far from finished.

The project covers parks in the B and C blocks of Sushant Lok 3 and the D block of Sushant Lok 2. Residents estimate that about 50% of the work in Sushant Lok 3 and 40% in Sushant Lok 2 has been completed. They cited loose or misaligned gym equipment, broken plastic covers, damaged wall stones, and tiles coming off walls and tracks. Gates, planting and boundary walls are also incomplete, they said.

Pawan Yadav, president of the Sushant Lok 2 and 3 RWA, said some completed work had already begun to deteriorate. The RWA has also sought MCG's help to remove what it described as encroachments around parks in Sushant Lok 3, saying it can maintain parks but cannot enforce removals.

MCG horticulture executive engineer Sandeep Kumar said the agency would inspect the sites, rectify substandard or unfinished work, and act against the contractor if it finds deficiencies.
