FIR filed over alleged lift gunfire at Sector 52 society in Gurgaon

A complaint alleging gunfire inside a lift at a Sector 52 housing society has led to an FIR at Sector 53 police station.

Narender Singh, president of Prashant Co-operative Group Housing Society at Plot GH-26, submitted a complaint and CCTV footage on August 12. Singh said neighbours told him that a gun was fired inside a lift at about 1am on August 9 while he was out of town.

He said residents later found damage to the lift, and that the footage appeared to show one or two rounds being fired. Singh also sought an inquiry into claims that people carrying weapons had been visiting a flat in the society.

Police have registered a case under the Arms Act against an unidentified person. Sector 53 police station inspector Narender Sharma said police were investigating the complaint and would take legal action as warranted.
