Fire contained at gym in GK-I’s M Block Market after late-night evacuation
A fire on the first floor of a gym in Greater Kailash-I’s M Block Market was brought under control after police evacuated everyone inside.
The fire broke out at about 10.15pm on Thursday at a gym operating under an actor-backed fitness brand, police said. No injuries or major damage were reported; a suspected short circuit is being examined as the possible cause.
Gym-goers were evacuated from a first-floor fitness centre in Greater Kailash-I’s M Block Market after a fire broke out there at about 10.15pm on Thursday.
Police personnel reached the gym before fire crews arrived and moved all occupants out of the building. Firefighters then brought the blaze under control and secured the site. Police said there were no casualties and no major damage.
The gym operates under an actor-backed fitness brand. Officers suspect a short circuit may have caused the fire, though the cause has not been confirmed.
For visitors and businesses in the busy market, the incident meant a late-night emergency response but no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
