Gurugram Metro installs first pier cap on Cyber City corridor

Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) said it has installed the first pier cap for the planned Metro corridor between Millennium City Centre and Cyber City.
A pier cap is a component of an elevated structure that supports a Metro viaduct. GMRL said the installation marks the start of superstructure work after the corridor’s initial groundwork.
Similar pier caps are to be installed at other locations along the planned 28.5km alignment, according to GMRL. The superstructure phase is expected to take around 30 months.
The proposed corridor is intended to link Millennium City Centre and Cyber City, two major employment and transit hubs in Gurugram.
