First pier cap installed for Gurugram’s Millennium City Centre–Sector 9 metro project

Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) has installed the first pier cap for phase one of the Millennium City Centre to Sector 9 metro project.

A pier cap is a structural element placed on top of a metro pillar to support the elevated structure. Its installation marks progress in the on-ground construction of the proposed corridor.

For Gurugram residents, the development is a visible sign that work is moving ahead on the Millennium City Centre–Sector 9 line. The project is expected to add to the city’s metro network, though construction activity around the corridor may affect nearby roads and daily travel as work advances.

GMRL has identified this as phase one of the project. Further construction milestones, including additional pillar and elevated-structure work, are expected as the project proceeds.
