Five Mumbai food plans for the October 24–25 weekend

A Meghalayan-Italian pop-up, a pasta-making workshop and a Thai brunch are among the weekend options across Mumbai.

Olive Bar Kitchen will host chef Niyati Rao’s Nonna Mei for a Meghalaya-influenced Italian menu on October 24 and 25. Elsewhere, Vile Parle, Lower Parel, Marol and Khar have pasta, cocktails, Bengali dishes and Thai brunch on the calendar.

Chef Niyati Rao’s Nonna Mei brings Meghalayan produce and flavours into an Italian menu at Olive Bar Kitchen this weekend. The pop-up includes a citrus salad with culantro granita and garlic crema, roasted turnips with sweet garlic and Meghalayan feta, along with Margherita pizza and tiramisu. It runs all day on October 24 and at lunch on October 25.

Make pasta or order cocktails

Luuma House in Vile Parle West will hold a hands-on pasta workshop on Sunday, October 25, from 4pm to 7pm. Participants will roll and shape pasta dough, then cook and eat what they have made.

Later that night, YAZU Pan-Asian Supper Club in Lower Parel hosts Kolkata bar Little Bit Sober for a one-night takeover from 9pm. The menu includes Hillbilly, made with vodka, grape and oolong-tea ferment, and Chasing the Sun, with whisky, Himalayan cheese, wild honey and truffle ferment.

Bengali buffet, Thai garden brunch

Fiona at Radisson Blu Mumbai International Airport in Marol is running Bengal Diaries on October 24 and 25 from 7pm. The buffet of Bengali dishes will include themed live counters, music and entertainment.

On Sunday from noon, Sweeney at 759, 5th Lane, Ram Krishna Nagar, Khar, serves its Thai brunch in the garden. The menu lists Tom Yum Benedict, Bangkok crab omelette, Thai chilli prawn toast and a coconut sticky-rice waffle with mango. A spritz bar and melodic house music are also planned, with the venue’s Garden Sessions platform featuring female performers.
