Bengaluru siblings plan Raksha Bandhan meals, workshops and hampers

Shruti Sharma would rather remember a dinner, a short outing or a shared hobby with her brother than the contents of a gift box. “Years later, I may not remember what was in the gift box, but I will remember the day we spent together,” she says.

For some Bengaluru siblings celebrating Raksha Bandhan, plans include a meal at a favourite restaurant, a pottery or baking workshop, a concert, a film, or an afternoon set aside from work.

Hampers are also being built around the recipient, with favourite snacks, photographs, books, candles, perfumes and hobby-related items. A coffee set might suit one sibling, while another may prefer an art workshop or a customised art hamper. Gifting curator Disha says wicker baskets, gourmet treats, premium fruits and healthy snack bars are among the additions being requested.

Sweets remain part of the celebration, alongside customised cakes, gourmet chocolates, and gluten-free, sugar-free or date-sweetened desserts. Smaller Rakhi hampers are priced from Rs 449 to Rs 699, while elaborate gourmet and premium versions begin at Rs 1,400.
