Gurgaon rain waterlogs roads in Udyog Vihar, Basai and newer sectors

Vehicles inched through pooled rainwater outside office buildings in Udyog Vihar on Friday afternoon after a sharp spell of rain swept Gurgaon.

Waterlogging was reported in Basai, parts of Old Gurgaon, sectors 9 and 10, and sectors 85, 86, 89, 90 and 92. Traffic slowed in several of these areas, while internal neighbourhood roads were also affected.

The India Meteorological Department had placed Gurgaon under a yellow alert and forecast light rain, with isolated pockets of moderate rain, during the afternoon.

Between 8am and 5pm, Farukhnagar received 34mm of rain, the highest recorded in the district. Kadipur and Harsaru logged 15mm each, Manesar received 12mm and Gurgaon tehsil recorded 5mm. Badshahpur and Sohna recorded no rain during that period.
