From postal history to Kuchipudi: Delhi NCR’s picks for August 18
A free postal-history talk at INTACH, a dance programme at India Habitat Centre and a clay-mug workshop in Gurugram are among Tuesday’s options.
Gallery XXL in Defence Colony opens Paper and Play, while S Rajendra Kumar will speak on India’s postal heritage at INTACH in Lodi Estate. The evening includes conservation films, dance and comedy across Delhi, with a clay-mug painting workshop in Gurugram.
Paper and Play opens at Gallery XXL in Defence Colony on Tuesday, bringing an art exhibition to A-277, Second Floor, from 11am to 7pm. Entry is free, and the show runs until August 22; Lajpat Nagar is the closest Metro station.
At 4.15pm, S Rajendra Kumar will speak on The Postal Heritage of India at INTACH’s Multipurpose Hall, 71 Lodi Estate. The session is free, with Jor Bagh and JLN Stadium the nearest Metro stops.
The evening offers several choices around Lodhi Road. India Habitat Centre lists Stories of Co-Existence Conservation from the North East, a free film-screening programme, at Gulmohar at 7pm. Its Stein Auditorium is also scheduled to host Spandana, featuring Kuchipudi by Amrita Singh and her disciples and Kathak by Ritusri Chaudhuri and her disciples, at 7pm.
In Gurugram, Breakin Brew Superlab at IFC, Sector 66, has clay-mug painting slots at 4pm and 5pm. Saket’s Hideout Comedy Club hosts Gaurav Kapoor’s Small Rooms at 9pm. Tickets for both are available through BookMyShow.
