Bengaluru Ganesha pandals need NOC for temporary BESCOM power

Ganesha pandal organisers in Bengaluru must obtain a no-objection certificate (NOC) before applying to BESCOM for a temporary electricity connection.

The application process is being routed through the Greater Bengaluru Authority’s single window. Organisers must submit the NOC at their BESCOM sub-division office along with passport photographs, an Aadhaar card and a festival pamphlet.

BESCOM warned organisers not to use unauthorised connections, including connections drawn from nearby power points. The utility said its vigilance officers would monitor violations and that power theft would attract penalties.

Organisers must ensure that lighting is properly insulated and does not come into contact with electricity poles. Samiyanas and pandals should be kept away from electric wires, poles and transformer stations.

For Ganesha processions, organisers should share planned routes with BESCOM sub-divisional officers in advance so the utility can arrange assistance near overhead lines. Residents can report live wires or electrical sparks through BESCOM’s 1912 helpline. Organisers have also been asked to mark electrical-installation areas as “Danger Zone.”
