Delhi garba and dandiya classes open in Civil Lines, Saket and Rohini

Lok Utsav is running six one-hour garba batches a day, with eight instructors from Jamnagar and a dholki player teaching routines ahead of Navratri. Its month-long programme includes six garba sequences, five dandiya sequences, and heech and teen-taali formations.

Organiser Yamini Dikshit said the classes run until October 16 and cost ₹5,000. Sessions begin with live dhol before moving to traditional and Bollywood music. Dikshit said the programme is designed to build the stamina needed to dance continuously for an hour or more.

In Civil Lines, Vyana Space is holding one-hour garba and dandiya classes at Shemrock Shevron School from September 10 to October 9. Trainer Amrita Arora’s programme includes 12 to 20 sessions and costs ₹3,500. The playlist leans towards Gujarati folk music and Falguni Pathak songs.

Thangaat Garba, a Mumbai-based group, is planning short workshops at IFBC Studios in Saket and Peach Dance Studio in Rohini. It is offering a three-day workshop in south Delhi and a two-day workshop in north Delhi, with two-hour sessions priced from ₹2,500 to ₹3,000.
