Ghaziabad forms three-member team to inspect government schools

Ghaziabad will send a three-member team to government schools to inspect classrooms, toilets, drinking water, playgrounds and other facilities.

The team will include a block education officer, a block development officer and an engineer. District Magistrate Ravinder Mander said the officials will speak with students during the survey and submit a detailed report. The administration will take corrective steps where it identifies shortcomings.

The inspection follows student protests in several Uttar Pradesh districts seeking more teachers, better food, drinking water and improved school infrastructure. According to the district administration, government schools in Ghaziabad face shortages of classrooms, toilets, drinking-water facilities and playgrounds, while teacher shortages are particularly pronounced in urban areas.

Mander will also monitor Chief Minister Abhyudaya classes through CCTV at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Nidori and Bhagirath School in Sanjaynagar. The social welfare officer has been asked to ensure facilities for students attending the free competitive-exam coaching classes. The administration will also review Kayakalp projects for basic infrastructure in government schools.
