Ghaziabad sets 15-day CM-GRID cleanup deadline in Indirapuram, Kaushambi

Road shoulders on several CM-GRID stretches in Indirapuram and Kaushambi remain cluttered with construction material, pipes and cables. Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation commissioner Vikramaditya Singh Malik has set new deadlines for contractors to clear the sites.

During an inspection on Tuesday, Malik directed officials to ensure contractors remove construction material from completed stretches within 15 days. Utility ducts carrying electric cables and pipelines must be covered within two months.

The scheme's second phase covers more than 10 km of roads in Indirapuram and 7 km in Kaushambi. On the 4-km package linking Saheed Capt Manoj Pandey Marg at Kanawani Puliya with NH-9, Sucheta Kriplani Road and the Kala Patthar Road-Kaveri Marg stretch, physical progress is just over 3%.

Other packages have recorded 2% to 10% progress. Repair work from Dabur Chowk to Kaushambi Bus Stand and from Vaishali Sector 4 to Harsh Vardhan Marg is below 4%.

The project, due for completion by March 2027, includes wider roads, cycle tracks, footpaths, solar-powered streetlights, bus stops, EV charging stations and green areas.
