GDA awards ₹125 crore tender for Hapur Chungi flyover

The Ghaziabad Development Authority has awarded a ₹125 crore tender for a 1.2km, four-lane elevated road at Hapur Chungi, with work expected to begin in September.

Officials expect the project to take nine months and open to traffic by June 2027. The elevated road is intended to carry through-traffic past the Hapur Chungi roundabout.

According to the project plan, the flyover will begin near the ALT junction and descend on Surdas Marg, about 500 metres ahead of Diamond Flyover. It is intended to give vehicles from RNE direct access to Diamond Flyover, which connects to NH-9 near Kavinagar Industrial Area.

Hapur Chungi carries traffic from Kavinagar, RNE, the DM office and police lines, and sees congestion outside peak hours. Commuters travelling towards Hapur also use Surdas Marg and Rani Jhansi Marg through the junction.

The route is also intended to ease travel towards Dasna and the Thakurdwara-Dasna administrative corridor, which includes the GDA and municipal offices, police headquarters, collectorate, courts and passport office.
