GMDA clears 16km of Gurugram corridors, launches reporting portal

GMDA said it has cleared about 16km of road corridors across Gurugram, removing kiosks, sheds, carts and construction material that it identified as encroachments.

In Sectors 17-18, GMDA teams cleared about 2km of right of way and removed 10 sheds, kiosks and other structures. On Sanath Road, teams cleared about 2km of vending carts. Across Sectors 30, 31, 32, 38, 39, 40 and 41, officials covered about 5km and removed more than 20 kiosks, tin sheds and temporary structures.

GMDA said its teams also cleared about 5km in Sectors 60 to 67, removing seven permanent structures. Along a 2km stretch of Sohna Road, nearly 15 temporary and permanent shops and structures were removed. The work follows GMDA’s planned 12-team anti-encroachment drive.

The new portal allows residents to report obstructions on roads, footpaths, greenbelts, drains and other public spaces using geo-tagged, time-stamped photographs. GMDA CEO PC Meena directed officials to act promptly, particularly where structures block the right of way. An administrative module will record each complaint and the action taken.
