GMDA invites bids for ₹7.4 crore St Thomas Marg revamp in Gurugram

GMDA has invited bids for a ₹7.4 crore revamp of nearly 2km of St Thomas Marg, the master-road link between Ardee Mall and Golf Course Road.

The project covers resurfacing of the main road and sections of its service road in Sectors 52A, 53 and 43. GMDA also plans footpaths, guardrails to prevent encroachment, road-safety installations and thermoplastic lane markings. Green areas will be lowered to retain more rainwater and reduce waterlogging.

The route serves DLF-5 residential complexes including Westend Heights, Princeton Estate and Carlton Estate, as well as schools, a hospital and nearby businesses. Ashok Dalwani, general secretary of the Sushant Lok-1 RWA, said pedestrians often use the carriageway because footpaths are in poor condition, particularly near Paras Hospital, where traffic is heavy.

Residents said the road has received patch repairs in recent years and was last recarpeted six years ago.

GMDA expects to award the contract within two months. The contract period is one year, though officials aim to complete the work before the next monsoon.
