GMDA floats ₹8.60 crore green-belt tenders for seven Gurugram roads

Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has floated three tenders worth ₹8.60 crore to develop, upgrade and maintain green belts along seven sector-dividing roads in the city.

The roads divide sectors 47/49, 47/50, 43/53, 43/52A, 44/52, 45/52 and 46/51.

The proposed work includes planting trees and shrubs. At selected locations, GMDA plans to lower the ground level so rainwater can flow into the green belts instead of collecting along road edges. Officials said debris and accumulated material had been cleared from several such stretches before the monsoon.

GMDA said the landscaped belts are intended to absorb additional runoff and increase green cover in built-up neighbourhoods.

Successful contractors will have six months to complete the development work, followed by 36 months of maintenance.
