GMDA proposes ₹140 crore Sohna Highway underpass for Sectors 66 to 69

Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority has proposed a new underpass across Sohna Highway to link the master roads of Sectors 66, 67, 68 and 69, now divided by the highway.

Planned on the lines of the Vatika Chowk underpass, the connection would also provide another route between Sectors 58 to 67 and Sectors 68 to 80. GMDA says it could take traffic off the Southern Peripheral Road and nearby junctions, while giving commuters an alternative to the often busy Vatika Chowk underpass during peak hours.

The project is still preliminary, with a tentative cost of over ₹140 crore. The final estimate will depend on engineering studies, structural work and utility shifting. The underpass would cross NH-248A within National Highways Authority of India right of way, and GMDA plans to approach NHAI if the proposal is cleared.

GMDA expects construction to take 18 months, subject to right-of-way availability, utility shifting and other clearances. The proposal is expected to be placed before the next GMDA authority meeting, anticipated by next week or in the first week of September.
