Greater Noida gives 20% interest waiver on water dues till August 31

Greater Noida consumers with pending water bills have until August 31 to receive a 20% waiver on the interest portion of their dues.

The concession is the final slab of the Greater Noida Authority’s three-month one-time settlement scheme. It applies to property allottees, housing societies, builders and other consumers with unpaid water charges.

The authority estimates outstanding water dues at about ₹84 crore across builder societies, residential properties, institutional and industrial units, residents’ welfare associations, IT parks and commercial establishments.

Consumers who paid earlier were offered larger interest waivers: 40% until June 30 and 30% until July 31. “Post this, the OTS will automatically lapse,” Additional Chief Executive Officer Sunil Kumar Singh said.

Separately, the authority has decided not to increase water tariffs for the 2026-27 financial year. Water charges had previously risen by 10% each year.
