Greater Noida reservoir cleaning begins in Omicron 1 on September 15

Greater Noida will begin cleaning underground water reservoirs at Omicron 1 on September 15. Residents in areas where work is underway may experience lower water pressure.

The first cleaning is scheduled from September 15 to 17. The programme will then move through other parts of the city until November 27, covering residential sectors, group-housing societies, educational institutions and public facilities.

Sunil Kumar Singh, additional chief executive officer of the Greater Noida Authority, advised residents to store water in drums or other containers before work begins, avoid unnecessary use and conserve supplies while their local reservoir is being cleaned.

The authority said it is carrying out the work on directions from chief executive officer N G Ravi Kumar to maintain the quality of water entering the distribution network. Cleaning will be staggered by location rather than carried out citywide at once, so the wider network is expected to remain operational.

Residents can check whether their sector is included as the schedule moves beyond Omicron 1 and plan water storage accordingly.
