Greater Noida residents report dark streets, P-3 lights on past dawn

Streetlights in Greater Noida’s P-3 sector are reportedly staying on until about 6.30am, while residents in Omicron, Gamma and Delta say some stretches have remained dark for weeks or months.

Amit Bhati, president of the P-3 residents’ welfare association, said the association wrote to GNIDA’s additional CEO seeking a review of the operating hours. Residents say the lights are intended to switch off by 5am and that the additional hour and a half adds to electricity use and the Authority’s costs.

In Omicron, Gamma and Delta, residents said some lights switch off during the night or do not work at all. They said dark patches can affect safety for people travelling through these areas after dark and increase the risk of road accidents.

Residents said earlier complaints had not led to changes on the ground. GNIDA officials said they would inspect the affected locations and take action where needed.
