Greater Noida residents flag rain-damaged roads from Chi 5 to Bisrakh

A 500-metre road stretch near Purvanchal Royal City in Sector Chi 5 has cracked and broken in places beneath the Yamuna Expressway bridge, residents said.

Residents said monsoon rain has worsened road conditions across Greater Noida. Near the DFCC flyover, Tilapta Chowk and Makoda roundabout, they reported water-filled potholes and road surfaces washed away in places near underpasses. In Beta 1, residents said the service road between Gates 2 and 5 has been damaged for more than a year, while choked drains have left parts of Gamma 1 waterlogged.

Residents said roads near the metro station in Alpha 2, less than 500 metres from the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority office, have remained damaged for nearly two years. Residents in Omicron 1A, Omicron 2 and Delta 1 also reported deteriorating internal roads and service lanes. The 300-metre approach road to the Ravan temple in Bisrakh is also pothole-ridden and becomes muddy during the monsoon, they said.

GNIDA said repairs have begun at some locations and estimates are being prepared for others. Prabhat Shankar, GNIDA’s senior manager for roads and drains, said an estimate for the Bisrakh temple approach road had been prepared and work would begin soon.
