Greenwood High wins Bengaluru inter-school critical thinking quiz

Aarav Hoonur, Suhaas Khandelwal and Veer Goyal of Greenwood High, Bannerghatta, won the inaugural inter-school Critical Thinking Quiz at St Joseph’s School Auditorium in Bengaluru.

The competition began with an online preliminary round in the first week of September, involving around 900 students from more than 100 schools. A total of 170 teams of three were shortlisted for the offline contest. Quiz master Surya Narayanan of Quiz Catalyst opened it with a 25-question written round, before six teams moved to the stage final.

The 18 finalists faced six rounds, including multiple-choice, pass, buzzer, crossword, anagram and rapid-fire rounds. Passed questions carried increasing points, making the decision to pass part of the contest’s strategy.

Sri Kumaran Public School, Mallasandra, ICSE, represented by Ayaan Rajesh Iyengar, Vivaan Chetan and Mayank G M, finished second. Sinchana B Vakkund, Ishaan Shivalli and Samarth Sandeep Bhargava of Presidency School, RT Nagar, came third. Winners received trophies, certificates and Titan Zoop watches.
