Gurgaon police arrest man in alleged Rajiv Chowk abduction case

Police said four men allegedly grabbed Ankit Kumar after he finished his shift at the Air Force Station, Sohna, canteen near the BSNL building at Rajiv Chowk around 4pm on August 31.

Kumar, 23, told police that he was hit on the head, forced into a white Swift and asked for Rs 10,000. When he said he did not have the money, the men allegedly assaulted him. He then called his co-worker, Parvinder, who transferred Rs 10,000 to Kumar’s account. Police said the group drove Kumar to an ATM and made him withdraw the cash.

The men allegedly left Kumar at a secluded spot in Dhankot after assaulting and threatening him. Gurgaon Sadar police registered a case under provisions relating to voluntarily causing hurt, abduction and extortion.

Police arrested Nikhil, 21, near Hero Honda Chowk on September 4. Police spokesperson Sandeep Turan said the Swift had been rented and seized. Police are questioning Nikhil to identify and trace the other three men.
