Gurgaon renter says 1BHK search brought quotes of ₹15,000 to ₹20,000 a month

Astha began her Gurgaon flat search looking for a 1BHK in the ₹10,000 to ₹12,000 range. Instead, she said property responses placed monthly rents between ₹15,000 and ₹20,000.

“Whatever you earn will just go into rent,” she said in an Instagram video, adding that she felt people were working mainly to pay landlords. She captioned the clip, “Gurgaon is mini Bangalore”, comparing the city with another major employment hub associated with high housing costs and traffic.

Astha also mentioned Gurgaon’s drainage system in her video. Her post drew agreement from some commenters, while others suggested choosing a paying guest accommodation or looking in Old Gurgaon. One commenter said a place there could be available for about ₹6,000 to ₹8,000, though that claim was not independently verified.

The video does not establish prevailing rents across Gurgaon, but it offers one renter’s account of the prices she encountered while looking for a one-bedroom home.
