Gurgaon teacher alleges pressure over two BLO assignments; complaints under review

A government school teacher assigned booth-level officer duties at Sector 23 and Mullahera was stopped on the fifth-floor terrace of Gurgaon’s mini-secretariat on August 13 after a dispute with election officials, her husband Dinesh Kumar alleged.

The teacher was first assigned to booth 96 in Sector 23, then given charge of booth 104 in Mullahera after another teacher’s deployment was cancelled. Kumar said the two locations made the dual assignment unworkable. The family wrote to the chief election commissioner on August 11 and visited the mini-secretariat two days later seeking relief from one duty.

Kumar alleged election tehsildar Anita Yadav threatened his wife with suspension and an FIR during a heated exchange. He said he followed her to the terrace and, with other visitors, stopped her from harming herself. Police were called and she underwent a medical examination.

The family has filed a complaint alleging harassment. Yadav’s counter-complaint alleges the teacher, Kumar and her brother-in-law created a commotion, obstructed government work and threatened officials. A senior district official said both complaints are being investigated. The family has also sought an independent inquiry through the CM portal.
