Gurugram agencies asked to close sewer gaps in Sectors 81-115

A 1,700-metre gap in the sewer network across Gurugram’s Sectors 81 to 87 remains after HSVP laid about 25km of line and handed the completed stretch to GMDA.

Principal advisor for urban development DS Dhesi directed GMDA and HSVP to speed up work on the master sewerage network for Sectors 81 to 115, including resolving land-related disputes and other constraints. He said litigation affecting small portions of land should not stall the wider project.

GMDA and HSVP teams will inspect and demarcate the affected sites before examining technical, land and alignment constraints. The agencies may consider alternative alignments to close the missing links.

In Sectors 104 to 115, GMDA has completed around 8km of a planned 20km sewer network. The authority said it is taking up the remaining work on stretches where right of way is available.

GMDA has floated a tender for a 100 MLD sewage treatment plant in Sector 107. Sewage from Sectors 81 to 115 is planned to be diverted to the plant, and Dhesi asked officials to coordinate line-laying work with the project so completed sewers can be connected to treatment infrastructure.
