Gurugram Sustainability Handbook 2026 launched, covers water and waste

Gurugram’s sustainability challenges, including water, waste, energy and mobility, are the focus of a handbook launched on Friday by Union minister of state and Gurugram MP Rao Inderjit Singh.

Civic organisation Gurgaon First produced the *Gurugram Sustainability Handbook 2026*, the fifth publication in the series. The handbook examines environmental pressures facing the city and presents solutions, best practices and a roadmap intended to improve Gurugram’s resilience.

It also examines governance, institutional collaboration and the role of residents in urban decision-making. Singh urged stakeholders to work together on the city’s environmental concerns.

Founder and director Shubhra Puri said credible information was essential for public participation and stronger urban governance. Researcher Aayush Dasgupta presented the findings, while sector experts Chetan Aggarwal, Rahul Khera, Sarika Panda Bhatt and Sangeeta Nayyar discussed sustainability issues.

Gurgaon First said the handbook is intended as a reference for decision-makers, businesses, researchers, civil society organisations and residents.
