Gurugram Metro project reaches first pier-cap milestone

Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) said it has installed the first pier cap for phase one of the Millennium City Centre-to-Sector 9 Metro project.

A pier cap is a structural element placed on top of a Metro pillar to support an elevated section of the corridor. Its installation is an early construction milestone for the project.

The planned corridor will connect Millennium City Centre and Sector 9. GMRL did not announce a timeline for subsequent construction stages or the project’s completion.

Residents and commuters near the alignment may see further elevated-structure work as construction progresses.
