Gurugram police impound motorcycle with 43 unpaid challans worth ₹1.94 lakh

A motorcycle stopped at Wazirabad Chowk on August 17 had 43 unpaid traffic challans amounting to ₹1.94 lakh, Gurugram police said.

The rider was asked for the vehicle’s documents during a routine checking drive but could not produce them. A subsequent verification found pending challans under provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

Police said most of the violations involved riding without a helmet, driving without insurance and not having a High Security Registration Plate (HSRP), along with other traffic offences. The motorcycle has been impounded and moved to a designated facility.

Traffic police said they are running special enforcement drives against traffic-rule violations and owners who have not cleared long-pending challans. Motorists have been asked to keep insurance and pollution certificates current, follow road-safety rules and pay outstanding penalties on time.
