Gurugram panel seeks repairs on six rain-damaged road stretches

Potholes reappeared on parts of Gurugram-Faridabad Road within two weeks of pre-monsoon repairs. The District Road Safety Committee has asked agencies to prioritise work on six rain-damaged stretches across Gurugram.

The priority works cover locations including Gurugram-Faridabad Road, Pataudi Road, roads around Jamalpur Chowk and Atul Kataria Chowk, a stretch near Garhi Mor, and service lanes near Kherki Daula. Officials told the committee that waterlogging and heavy rain since July had left cracks, potholes and deformed road surfaces.

Near DAV School at Atul Kataria Chowk, pipeline work has left part of the road unfinished. Traffic police told the committee that this has contributed to unauthorised parking and congestion. The slip roads on both sides of the Jamalpur Chowk flyover need resurfacing. The Wazirpur-Hayatpur and Garhi Mor-Elan Mall routes via Gamdoli village were also recommended for renovation.

PWD said its maintenance concessionaire plans to complete the required repairs by September 30. Pataudi Road and the Jamalpur Chowk stretch are to be resurfaced after September inspections. At Rampura Flyover near Kherki Daula, NHAI said it will build the service lanes after GMDA constructs a load-bearing drain.
