Gurugram’s IFFCO Chowk-SPR corridor upgrade gets ₹41.86 crore approval

The 7.1-km stretch from IFFCO Chowk to Southern Peripheral Road is set for resurfacing, new drainage and pedestrian infrastructure after Haryana approved a ₹41.86 crore GMDA project.

The work covers sector-dividing roads between Sectors 28/29, 43/44, 52/52A and 56/57. The main carriageway will receive a bituminous overlay, while footpaths and cycle tracks are planned on both sides. Junction upgrades, grills and other safety measures are also included. GMDA has set a one-year completion target.

The state’s high-powered works purchase committee also approved a ₹26.83 crore connection between Sectors 68 and 69. It will include 900 metres of new main carriageway, resurfacing of 1,100 metres of existing road, and nearly 2 km of two-lane service road, with footpaths, cycle tracks and horticulture works.

GMDA said the link will connect SPR and Sohna Road, improving access to Sectors 68, 69, 70, 70A, 75 and 76. An underpass is also under construction near Z Chowk, opposite Millennium City Centre metro station, and electricity-pylon removal is expected to begin soon.
