Hardik Pandya’s return delayed after reported rehab setback in Bengaluru

Hardik Pandya’s rehabilitation in Bengaluru has reportedly hit a fresh obstacle, delaying his return to India’s T20I side.

The all-rounder was not named in India’s squad for the three-match Afghanistan series in Delhi, scheduled for September 13, 15 and 17. Pandya had been working towards full fitness and a return for upcoming T20I assignments, but the reported leg setback has ruled him out of this series.

India have retained Axar Patel and Shivam Dube among their all-round options. Jasprit Bumrah, Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar were selected subject to fitness clearance.

Pandya’s recovery timeline has not been confirmed. The next decision on his availability will depend on his rehabilitation progress in Bengaluru.
