Hindu College holds Tiranga Rally, Partition remembrance programme

Hindu College’s Tiranga Rally moved through the campus as students, teachers, staff and volunteers carried the tricolour during the college’s 80th Independence Day programme.

The day began with a flag-hoisting ceremony, followed by renditions of *Vande Mataram* and the National Anthem. Faculty members, students, non-teaching staff, frontline workers, NSS volunteers and NCC cadets from the Navy and Army wings took part. The gathering also pledged support for Nasha Mukt Bharat, a drug-free India initiative.

On the eve of Independence Day, Hindu College teachers and NSS volunteers attended a Partition Horrors Remembrance Day programme at the Multipurpose Hall in the University of Delhi Sports Complex. The event, themed “The Story of India’s Partition (1947)”, was attended by Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan. Indian Council of Historical Research chairman Raghuvendra Tanwar delivered the keynote address, and Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh was also present.

The programme remembered people affected by Partition.
