Home Guard member dies after SUV hits motorcycle in Crossing Republic

A Home Guard member died and a police constable was injured after a red Thar allegedly hit their police motorcycle near the Baharampur police outpost in Ghaziabad’s Crossing Republic area on Wednesday evening.

Kapil Kumar died at SJM Hospital later that night. Constable Praveen Kumar, who was travelling with him, was injured.

Both personnel were posted at Noida’s Sector 63 police station. They were travelling towards Gaur City-2 in Greater Noida West after receiving information about an incident there.

Police said the SUV driver was allegedly driving rashly and negligently when the vehicle struck the motorcycle. Crossing Republic police registered a case on Praveen Kumar’s complaint and are trying to identify the driver through the SUV’s registration number.
