HSIIDC invites bids to rebuild 4km of Pataudi Road in Gurugram

A 4km stretch of Pataudi Road between Umang Bharadwaj Chowk and the upcoming Global City is now out for reconstruction bids, offering a possible longer-term fix for commuters navigating potholes, sewage overflow and monsoon waterlogging.

HSIIDC plans to rebuild the carriageway, widen the road where feasible, and relay sewer and stormwater drains. The corridor connects the Delhi-Jaipur Highway with sectors along the Dwarka Expressway and the 1,000-acre Global City township.

Residents of sectors 9, 9A, 10, 10A, 36, 36B, 37 and 37B, along with industrial workers and commercial traffic, use the route. Neha Sharma, who travels from Sector 37 to Hero Honda Chowk, said vehicles are regularly damaged on the road.

Chief minister Nayab Singh Saini had directed officials in February to repair the road within 24 hours after public complaints. Temporary patchwork was carried out, but commuters said the surface deteriorated again.

HSIIDC has said the project is to be completed within a year of the contract being awarded, after the tender process concludes.
